Person-centred, mindfulness-based therapy is my treatment focus. I believe in helping the whole individual and creating balanced daily living through greater self-awareness, self-acceptance and finding clarity in our individual needs and goals. Counselling is an opportunity to make changes in the aspects of your life that are no longer serving you. I specialize in trauma & PTSD, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships (including LGBT) and lifestyle changes.
Based on each client’s specific needs, I integrate cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focused therapy and body centred therapy into my counselling practice. By examining thoughts and behaviours, clients are able to find what works for them and where there is room for change. Listening to the challenges and experiences of our bodies lets us tap into the mind-body connection. Clients can become their authentic self by letting go of fears, resistance and past traumas through this method.
I am passionate about helping and supporting clients through their life challenges. I offer clients a judgement-free space to share their stories, receive support and gain insightful and productive feedback. My goal as a therapist is to help clients live the life that works best for them, navigate their individual challenges and create space in their lives for abundant joy and wellness.
My holistic therapeutic approach is client centred. I focus on a client’s strengths and personal challenges and making the client the expert in their own lives. Together we explore the physical, mental, emotional and social aspects of a client’s life which are influencing wellbeing. I offer a free 15min consultations for prospective clients as I believe the therapeutic relationship is fundamental to success in counselling.
I am happy to offer clients EMDR Therapy and Guided Meditation as part of our counselling sessions. EMDR Therapy is ideal for trauma, anxiety, depression and disturbing memories or life events. Guided Meditation is very useful for clients working through anxiety or trauma.
I am registered with the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP), a government funded program to assist victims and witnesses of crime recover from the effects of trauma. You may be eligible for financial assistance to cover counselling & EMDR sessions if you or a family member has been a victim of a crime.
