My focus is a person-centered, mindfulness based approach to therapy. I believe in helping the whole individual and creating balance in daily living by greater self-awareness, self-acceptance and finding clarity in our individual needs and goals. Counselling is an opportunity to make changes in the aspects of your life that are no longer serving you.
I am passionate about helping and supporting clients through their life challenges. I offer clients a judgement-free space to share their stories, receive support and gain insightful and productive feedback. My goal as a therapist is to help clients live the life that works best for them, navigate their individual challenges and create space in their lives for abundant joy and wellness.
My holistic therapeutic approach is client centered, focusing on a client’s strengths and personal challenges and making the client the expert in their own lives. Together we explore the physical, mental, emotional and social aspects of a client’s life which are influencing wellbeing. As part of this framework, I believe the therapeutic relationship is fundamental to success in counselling, which is why I’m happy to offer free 30min consultations to ensure I am the right fit for you.
Cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focused therapy and body centered therapy are also integrated into my counselling practice, based on each client’s specific needs. By examining thoughts and behaviours, clients are able to find what is working for them and where there is room for change. By listening to the challenges and experience of our bodies we can tap into the mind-body connection, in order to let go of fears, resistance and past traumas that may be holding a client back from becoming their authentic self.
I am also happy to offer clients EMDR Therapy, Light Therapy and Guided Meditation as part of our counselling sessions. EMDR Therapy is ideal for trauma, anxiety, depression and disturbing memories or life events. Light Therapy is targeted for clients that suffer from mood changes due to light deprivation (seasonal affective disorder). This treatment is also helpful for clients who have difficulty getting up in the morning or notice a lack of energy or motivation. Guided Meditation is very useful for clients working through anxiety or trauma.
