Our own Dr. Amy Gilchrist was awarded a BC Achievement Community Award on May 10th in a formal presentation ceremony held in Victoria, BC (at Government House),in the presence of the Honourable Janet Austin, OBC, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia.

Why is Dr. Amy receiving this award? Glad you asked!

Dr. Amy is the Clinical Director of the Family Naturopathic Clinic (FNC), a naturopathic teaching facility she started in 2007 that offers free naturopathic care to young, low-income families. Over the past 15 years, FNC has served more than 5000 patients in the community and provided clinical training to more than 300 naturopathic interns because of Dr. Gilchrist’s vision and innovative leadership.

Did you know?

The FNC has operated out of Acacia Health’s Dockside location, and is proudly supported by Acacia in many ways, from donated space, to cross training staff and more!

The FNC provides:

  • Free naturopathic care to adults and children including nutritional counselling, acupuncture, herbal medicine, prescription medications as well as stress and lifestyle management advice.
  • Supplements like Vitamin D, probiotics and more are also free of charge to patients in need.
  • Important training for Naturopathic Clinical Interns – who gain valuable experience working with these young families.
