The first and only clinic of its kind in Canada, the Family Naturopathic Clinic provides naturopathic health care free-of-charge to low income families here in Victoria, BC.
Starting as a pilot project by Dr. Gilchrist in the spring of 2007, The Family Naturopathic Clinic has become a huge success both in utilization by the target population (it has been fully booked since inception) and in outcomes for patients and their families. In the summer of 2009, Acacia, Dr. Gilchrist and Dr. Schurr partnered with the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine with the intention of expanding access in order to serve a long wait-list of clients. What developed was a partnership, where 4th year Naturopathic Interns come to Acacia to deliver care, supervised by a licensed ND. This provides these upcoming doctors with valuable clinical experience, while effectively tripling the number of patients we can treat.

About The FNC Care Society
The FNC Care Society is a non-profit society whose aim is to support and empower young-parented families through the provision of free naturopathic care, while providing naturopathic interns access to high quality clinical internships with this same population. The FNC Care Society operates the free clinic at Acacia Health and serves low-income, young-parented families in British Columbia’s Capital Region.
