This chocolate yogurt bark takes only minutes to prepare and makes a satisfying sweet treat! Having tasty and refreshing snacks ready to go can make healthy eating all the easier. You can also customize the yogurt bark by adding crushed nuts, granola, or swirling in some peanut butter.
A Balanced Treat
Pairing a source of protein and fibre with each meal is great for managing blood sugar and satisfying your cravings. The Greek yogurt provides protein and calcium, while the banana provides fibre and potassium. This makes a great alternative to ice cream, which is typically low in fibre and protein, but high in sugar and saturated fat.
Low in Sugar
Compared to other frozen treats like ice cream, this yogurt bark is relatively low in sugar. Choose dark chocolate with at least 70% cacao to further reduce the sugar content. For example, a milk chocolate bar can have as much as 20g of sugar in just 4 pieces, while dark chocolate has just 6g. The sweetness from the banana and maple syrup helps to cut the bitterness and make this a great option for a dessert or snack!
