As a recent graduate from WCCMT, my career as a massage therapist is just beginning — but my connection to massage and complementary health care stretches back much further. From a young age, I’ve experienced firsthand how skilled, compassionate practitioners can make all the difference in recovery and wellbeing.

After a car accident when I was ten, massage therapy helped me return to the things that mattered most to a kid growing up on a farm — running around, helping out, and, of course, pestering my sister. Later, when I developed a neurological condition called allodynia, a wonderful physiotherapist helped my brain rewire itself and find balance again. These early experiences gave me a lasting respect for the body’s resilience and the power of therapeutic touch.

Before pursuing massage therapy, I spent many years working with children and families. During that time, massage became part of my own maintenance and prevention routine. But it wasn’t until I went through a period of significant stress and burnout that I truly began to appreciate the deep mind–body connection. Experiencing psychosomatic release firsthand — that moment when the body lets go of stored tension and emotion — opened my eyes to how our physical and emotional health are intertwined. Seeing how the body “keeps the score,” and how release can restore not only calm but also immune function, was a profound lesson for me.

After years surrounded by the joyful (and sometimes chaotic) energy of young children learning to navigate big emotions, I’ve come to deeply value the peaceful space of the treatment room — a place where calm, presence, and healing can unfold.

I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Acacia Health and to be part of this warm and supportive community. I’m especially interested in working with people living with neurological conditions such as MS and ALS, and those recovering from strokes or spinal cord injuries. I also bring experience in creating positive, collaborative massage experiences for young children, and have a special appreciation for supporting older adults, particularly those managing arthritis. My approach is rooted in empowerment — helping each person take an active role in their recovery and tailoring each treatment to meet their unique needs.

Outside the clinic, I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by good food, good company, or both. I love reading, cooking, exploring the outdoors, and riding my motorcycle. Floating in the ocean or a quiet lake, surrounded by lush greenery, is my version of perfect peace — unless there are better snacks nearby.
