Seth Gotro

New Grad Therapist - Massage Bodyworker

Seth graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in Victoria just this winter and is waiting to write his registration exams this spring to become a Registered Massage Therapist. Currently he is offering wellness massage treatments, Seth’s treatments are not applicable to health insurance until he is fully registered.

He has a strong belief in peer-reviewed, evidence-based therapies and the therapeutic practitioner-client alliance, while still using an intuitive approach to treatment that respects and best fits the needs of the client as they present that day. Those clients who work with Seth will notice that he is invested in your recovery process from the moment of intake no matter what walk of life you come from.

Seth’s interest in Massage Therapy runs the gamut between working with athletes at all levels in Power/Olympic lifting, Crossfit and bodybuilding, to those with physical limitations caused by disorders such as Cerebral Palsy, MS and Parkinson’s. As a former competitive boxer and coach, Seth also has a deep understanding of Post-Concussive Syndrome and other associated injuries that come with the rigors of combative sports training/competition.

Additionally, Seth served in the Canadian Forces for six years as a Primary Reservist with the Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary’s). As such, has an interest in working with members of the CF or First Responders who may be experiencing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or other service-attributable injuries. If any of the above fits what you are currently experiencing, Seth would like to work with you to help plan and achieve your goals for recovery.

By way of history, Seth grew up in rural northern BC and moved to Victoria 25 years ago. Seth has deep ties to the blue-collar, working class community; he has worked physical labor jobs since he was 14 years old, from throwing hay, fighting wild and control burn forest fires, to landscape construction and golf course maintenance. Seth believes that the work ethic instilled in him from a young age, coupled with the new education from WCCMT, makes him a unique and overall well-rounded practitioner.
